The word, philanthropos, combined two words: philos, or “loving” in the sense of benefiting, caring for, nourishing; and anthropos – “humankind, “humanity”, or “human-ness”. ‘Philanthropia’, loving what it is to be human, was thought to be the key to civilization.
We share the belief that it’s through philanthropy; we can make life a richer experience for others and ourselves.
